Following my Calling

On March 10th of 2010, I answered a calling to walk down the path the Lord has prepared for me. I said yes after weeks of searching for reasons that I should not accept the responsibility. Staying the course is not an easy thing to do with the world trying to get you to side step. First, know that I am a sinner. I sin every waking day. I have said that none of us realize the sins that we commit on a daily basis. If we did, we would not commit them. It is my responsibility to focus on the life I lead every day and keep my transgressions to a minimum. I answered “yes” to this calling, willing to sacrifice any and everything I have, knowing that I will never know what waits for me around the corner. I walk with no agenda or mission; rather, I have only the goals to trust and to follow Him. We may never know the reasons or results of the ripples that we create. I hope to be a light to the people around me for as long as He will use me.

We have been blessed to live in a country that was founded on the name of Jesus Christ. The founders came to build a country with the freedoms that are endowed by God. They came here with one thing in hand; their Bible. They knew it from cover to cover. They created a government based on this knowledge, resulting in our Constitution. Without Christ there is no Constitution. The world has been trying to dissolve His name, and in doing so, they are dissolving the Constitution. The Constitution is the fabric that holds this country together. Without it, we are nothing more than a country ruled by a government. The world fears these things most: the name of Jesus Christ, the Constitution of the United States, and those of us that believe in both.

One of the hardest things in life is to stand for what you believe, when no one else is willing. Taking a stand will make you vulnerable and exposed. I had the privilege of knowing two men that enlisted the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor. They were willing to give everything to fight for their country and their beliefs. Our fight is not in the Philippines, nor at Normandy. It is in our churches, our school board meetings, our counties, our cities, and in our states. It will not be fought or won in D.C.! We have to put God first in everything that we do. If we will focus on Him and hold ourselves accountable for our own sins; if we hold to our principals and our fundamental beliefs, the rest will take care of itself. He will not abandon us. I believe that we are in the middle of a Revolution and this is the time for our Awakening.

Sincerely,

Delvis Dutton
